The Root of Nightmare is the new raid in Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion. Every expansion, there’s a new raid, and players worldwide race to have the first clear. Bungie celebrates this accomplishment with unique emblems and title belts for the winning team. Over the years, the race has taken teams as long as almost 24 hours to get a clear.
The Root of nightmare took roughly 2 hours and 26 minutes to clear, making it one of the shortest raid clears in Destiny’s history. Only beaten by the completion of Wrath of the Machine in Destiny’s Rise of Iron expansion, which was just shy of 2 hours.
Destiny 2’s New Raid The Root of Nightmare Cleared In Under Two and A Half Hours
While the World’s First race was a quick completion, it doesn’t mean the raid itself is short. Plenty of teams are still on the first or second encounter of the raid. We won’t spoil anything here, but there’s plenty for folks to chew on. While Vow of the Disciple, the previous raid released with The Witch Queen, took over seven hours to beat, The Root of Nightmare is not without its challenges.
It features the same split of encounters and boss battles as previous Destiny 2 raids that came before.
