Before the early access beta for Diablo 4 went live on March 17, Blizzard released a blog post detailing how players could download the game and get ready for the event. Although they gave a description for each platform, the PlayStation 5 guide wasn’t as helpful as it could have been.
Blizzard tells players that they simply need to search for the “Diablo IV Open Beta” within the PlayStation store. If you try that out though, you may run into some more confusion. To make sure you download the client without any additional issues on PS5, we’ll go over where you can find the option for the beta download.
Diablo IV Beta – How to Download on PlayStation 5
Step one is to open up the main store option like you would for any other game. You can find the search bar by select the magnifying glass icon in the top corner of the store screen. With the search bar open, you can type in “Diablo IV Open Beta” like Blizzard suggested, but it doesn’t end there.
When you see the option for Diablo 4, select the game and you’ll see an option to purchase the game like any other title on the store. Next to the purchase options though, you’ll see the button with three dots that open more information. Choose the view product tab, which will bring you to another Diablo 4 page.

On this page, you’ll want to select the same three dots button from before, but on the product page, you’ll have additional options like the ability to download the open beta. Anyone can download the beta client, but you’ll still need a code to enter the early access version of Diablo 4.
