Have you ever wanted to shoot a laser beam? Then Trace Rifles are the guns for you. These guns can shoot out a continuous stream of energy with near-perfect accuracy, and there are a few Trace Rifles as good as Wavesplitter. Here’s how to get the Wavesplitter in Destiny 2.
How to Get Wave Splitter in Destiny 2
With the Lightfall modding changes, Wavesplitter has gone from a dust collector to a Trace Rifle that you’ll absolutely want in your arsenal, especially if you haven’t picked up Divinity.
The fundamental flaw of Wavesplitter previously came in the form of its Exotic Perk, Harmonic Laser. Harmonic Laser has laser damage that has three power levels that oscillate while the trigger is held down. But with its other perk, Supercharged Battery, collecting an Orb of Power grants maximum power to the Wavesplitter with an automatic reload and also causes the targeted enemy to get the debuff Suppressed.
But in Lightfall, you and your fireteam can generate Orbs of Power easily, and Wavesplitter has more viability against bosses, Champion, and even mobs. But getting this Trace Rifle all boils down to dumb luck. Wavesplitter came during the Season of the Forsaken, where it was initially a PS4 exclusive. But now it’s available to all players as a random world drop.

That means that Wavesplitter is part of all loot pools, from Public Events to playlist activities. And while that makes Wavesplitter a little harder to farm and grind for, that means you can go out and do whatever you like and hope that this rare gun drops. Keep your eyes peeled for Exotic Engrams on the ground, and check the Post Office regularly.
