If you had a Game Boy Advance in the early 2000s, you probably remember the cute turn-based strategy game Advance Wars. Yeah, this one comes from the era when all early releases for the then-new Nintendo portable console had to have “Advance” in the title! The new upcoming Nintendo Switch version – Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp brings a complete remake of the first two games with their full campaigns, completely new 3D graphics, a new soundtrack, and support for online multiplayer.
As this title was announced back in 2021, there have already been several delays and many players are wondering when Advance Wars 1+2 is coming out. Let’s find out.

When is Advance Wars 1+2 Coming Out?
Nintendo had planned to release Advance Wars 1+2 on December 3, 2021, but it was pushed out until April 8, 2022, because of reasons unknown, but the second release date had to be pushed even further into 2023 because, well… some real-life war-related events that started in March 2022, you might have heard about it. Although the “special military operation” is far from over, we are finally getting Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp on April 21, 2023, almost a year later.

A little-known detail is that the original Advance Wars was also delayed in some regions due to a real-life situation that occurred in the US in September 2001. The game came out on September 10, 2001, so the European and Japanese versions had to be delayed.
Over twenty years later, the remake also had to be postponed due to another real-life war situation. I still can’t decide if is this weird, sad, or both… I mean we just wanted to play with cute little tanks and soldiers shooting at each other. Make Advance Wars games, not war!
