Early in March, hints began pouring in that Cutiefly and Ribombee, the tiny but adorable Bug Pokemon, would be added to Pokemon GO. In April, those hints proved to be true. Here’s how to get the charming Ribombee in Pokemon GO.
How to Get Ribombee in Pokemon GO
Cutiefly and Ribombee are the latest Pokemon to join Pokemon GO, and just in time for Spring! So, get those nuts ready. Here’s how to add Ribombee to your Pokedex in Pokemon GO.
Ribombee was added as part of the Spring into Spring 2023 event in Pokemon GO, and it sports both a cute scarf and double typing in the form of Bug and Fairy. And, like many other bugs, it’s fairly easy to catch.
Like most Pokemon in Pokemon GO, your best bet to catch Ribombee is to catch it in its base form, Cutiefly.
Cutiefly can be found through Wild Encounters in the overworld, in 1-Star Raids, and upon hatching 2 km Eggs. Cutiefly will be absolutely everywhere until the Spring into Spring event ends on April 10, 2023. After that, you’ll still be able to find Cutiefly in both the wild and through eggs.

Once you have Cutiefly in your collection, you’ll need to evolve it. To do so, you’ll need 50 Cutiefly Candy, so be sure to catch as many Cutiefly as you can while the event is going on! Failing that, add Cutiefly as your Buddy and start walking. It’ll take quite some time to get enough Candy to evolve Cutiefly with just candy obtained by walking, but isn’t Ribombee worth it?
Once you have Ribombee, you might be wondering if it’s worth bringing into PvP. Unfortunately, its typing means that it has plenty of weaknesses, and Bug types aren’t particularly viable. But you can always try!
Here’s its possible moveset:
Possible Fast Moves:
- Fairy Wind (Fairy)
- Struggle Bug (Bug)
Possible Charged Moves:
- Bug Buzz (Bug)
- Dazzling Gleam (Fairy)
