There have been rumblings that Ganon might make an appearance in Tears of the Kingdom after a “dehydrated” Ganon was shown briefly in a clip in 2019. But is the ultimate Gerudo really making his triumphant return? Is Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? We have your answer below.
Is Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? – Answered
It’s been seventeen years since all the Triforce wielders were in the same game, and now it looks like they’re finally reunited. That’s right, Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf are making their triumphant return in Tears of the Kingdom.
In a beautiful and epic reveal in the recently released Tears of the Kingdom Trailer, we see Ganondorf being revived.
“Do not look away. You witness a king’s revival… and the birth of his new world.”
Fans have immediately gone bonkers on Twitter. There’s been years’ worth of “rehydrated” Ganondorf fanart jumping around the internet since a skeletal and husk-like Ganondorf was shown in a trailer several years ago. And hydrated Ganondorf raging out in the trailer is precisely what the people want, as there’s now thousands of posts celebrating his return.
Nintendo quickly released the official art of Ganondorf, which showcases Ganondorf bare-chested, equipped with a sword, and tattooed.

Weebs and nerds will also be delighted to know that there are quite a few rumors that Ganondorf is being voiced by Matt Mercer, the man who does the voice for Jotaro Kujo, one of the main characters of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, One Piece’s Trafalgar D. Water Law, and who acts as the Dungeon Master for Critical Hit. However, this has yet to be officially confirmed.
While this Gerudo might have the fans dehydrating, Link and his army of friends seem determined to beat him. Their campaign against Ganondorf will begin on May 12 on the Nintendo Switch.
