If you’re tired of looking at the same old clothing in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you have a few options. You can either save up the rupees to gather some new armor from your local salesperson, or you can take a bit of an adventure to Hateno Village and start dying your clothing. Whether you’re hoping to give your original tunic a new color and dye or want to spruce up something that’s a bit more in style, you’re in the right hands with Sayge. But what must we do, and where is this Village located? Let’s “dye”ve in and find out.
Where Do I Go To Dye My Clothing In Tears Of The Kingdom?
To get to Hateno Village, you will need to head Southeast from Lookout Landing, uncovering parts of the map along the way. Make sure that you’ve either got plenty of Cold Resistant clothing or food items before trying to clear out this portion of the map, as the Lanayru Tower is located at the top of a snowy mountain. Once you have uncovered this portion of the map, head to the location on the map above.

Once you have gotten to Hateno Village, you’ll want to keep an eye out for this building here, located at 3397, 2183, 0180 on your Mini Map. The giant beakers full of dye on the outside of the building may be more than enough to give this location away. Once you have arrived, you’ll want to go inside and talk to the eclectic shopkeeper, Sayge.
Once you have gone through his initial sales pitch, you’ll have the option to either dye your clothing or rework the fabric for your glider. In this guide, we’ll be covering the clothing aspect of things. No matter which option you choose, however, you’re going to need at least 20 rupees. Select the first option to start working on your new fit.

After selecting the clothing that you would like to dye, you’re going to need to choose a color that you would like to dye it. To do this, you’ll need at least 5 of a specific material that matches that color. For the tunic above, I went with Black and needed five Flint to complete the outfit. After this, you are dropped into a massive vat of water, your clothing is dyed, and you’re ready to hit the town in your new outfit.
And that’s all there is to it. You can return here with a variety of different clothing, but please note, you cannot dye Amiibo costumes.
