How to Solve Error Code 34601 in Battlefield 1

A handful of things can be attempted to resolve Error Code 34601 in Battlefield 1 and here are my top suggestions for this troubleshooting process.

1. Check the Battlefield Server Status

“BFSTATUS” is an unofficial app that serves to inform the players about outages of all Battlefield Servers. In addition to that, you can try DownDetector and see if players have reported outages. If those sources show no server issues, you could try connecting to a different server in-game.

2. Check your own Internet Connection

A couple of things to try related to your own Internet Connection:

  • See if other games/services are working for you
  • Restart your router and PC
  • Check if you have software that may interfere with your connection (Antivirus, Firewall, VPN) and try turning them off and/or providing exceptions for Battlefield 1 where possible

3. Check if you have conflicting software running in the background

It’s kind of silly, but some people forget to turn off their cheat engines, PC optimization software, and overlays, and then can’t figure out why their game won’t work properly. It might be smart to close almost everything else during troubleshooting to see if your Battlefield 1 client is working.

4. Update, Repair, or Reinstall Battlefield 1

Sometimes, auto-update doesn’t do the trick, so you need to ask your launcher to update Battlefield 1 manually. If that doesn’t do the trick, and your game still does not work even when updated, your installation may be corrupt.

Corrupt installations are not that rare of an occurrence, and the least you can do is run a scan through your game launcher to see if your installation is healthy or not. Repairing is much faster and more economical than Reinstallation (in case you are on a limited connection), but sometimes Repairing cannot fix things. If nothing works, reach out to EA Support and tell them about the troubleshooting you’ve done. It will help them to assess your issue better and resolve it faster.
