Nightmare Dungeons are incredibly difficult to complete at higher tiers, and the Diablo 4 developers are well aware of how that affects the build diversity in the game. To address that issue, there are changes to the difficulty of Nightmare Dungeons, along with some tuning to make them more fun overall.
Nightmare Dungeons Are Now Easier in Diablo 4
In the first Campfire Chat following the release of the Season of the Malignant, the developers confirmed that Nightmare Dungeons will be getting adjusted to make them easier and more lucrative. One comparison made by Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora was that Tier 100 dungeons will feel more like Tier 70 dungeons do right now.
According to both Joe Piepiora and Game Director Joe Shely, the change will be made in a hotfix at some point on July 21 or shortly after the Campfire Chat. More changes will be coming to Nightmare Dungeons, but this is the first step to making them more enticing and fixing balance issues in the game.

Both Joe Piepiora and Game Director Joe Shely said that Nightmare Dungeons were one of the main reasons that build variety needed tuning. Because of the difficulty after Tier 70, players had to use specific builds to complete the content, and that’s not the goal of these dungeons in the late game of Diablo 4.

Joe Piepiora also acknowledged that there is far too much crowd control that punishes players for missing one small chill effect. This was another reason players needed limitless cooldown reduction and may be addressed today.
Down the line, the mob density will also be increased in Nightmare Dungeons. This could be in patch 1.1.1 or could appear beyond Season 1. Either way, Nightmare Dungeons will eventually be even better for farming, and another end-game activity will be better for testing out your Diablo 4 builds.
