When you reach the end of the Open Hand Temple Murders quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will finally get some information that leads to the Candulhallow’s Tombstone building. This small building leads to a hidden sanctum for the followers of Bhaal, but you need to find the hidden path before you can truly enter the deadly caves. Here’s how to enter Candulhallow’s Tombstone in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to Find Candulhallow’s Tombstone in BG3
You can find the Candulhallow’s Tombstone building northwest of the Basilisk Gate in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you go directly north of the Stormshore Tabernacle, you’ll find a small alleyway across from the Elfsong Tavern. This seemingly abandoned building is exactly where you want to go and don’t forget to bring a lockpick.
If you took down the main suspect for the Open Hand Temple Murders and searched the remains, then you will have the location marked directly on your map. You still need to find the entrance in the alley though, and it still needs to be lockpicked.

How to Enter Candulhallow’s Tombstone in BG3
To reach the hidden entrance in Candulhallow’s Tombstone, you need to move the skull painting on the wall across from the bookshelf. If your party is facing the bookshelf at the end of the Candulhallow’s building, then the skull and butterfly painting will be mounted behind you. Simply have one of your party members throw the painting on the floor.
Behind the painting is a button. Press the button and the bookshelf with the objective marker will slowly move out of the way. Now you can enter the Bhaalist Crypt without any issues. But make sure to have some of the murder victims’ hands before talking to the guards.
After you’re done in the crypt, find out how you can enter the Temple of Bhaal in Baldur’s Gate 3.
