What's new in CS2 September 13 and 14 2023 release notes

With the release imminent, Valve is fine-tuning CS2 as much as possible and, in two days, we’ve gotten two separate release notes. Various fixes and adjustments have been applied to the current CS2 beta. So, without further ado, let’s jump into the release patch notes for September 13 and 14 for Counter Strike 2.

CS2 September 13 2023 Release Notes

Here are the CS2 release notes for September 13:

MAPS

  • Various bug fixes and tweaks for all shipped maps

GAMEPLAY

  • Various fixes for molotov/incendiary grenades
  • Various fixes for smoke grenades
  • Fixed damage indicators for fire damage
  • Adjusted first-person sniper contrails to reflect shot accuracy
  • Various adjustments to lag compensation
  • Replaced player elevation indicators on the radar with look directions

PREMIER MATCHMAKING

  • Various bug fixes and tweaks to UI elements

SOUND

  • Audio mix changes and tweaks
  • Lowered occlusion and distance effects for gunfire, footsteps and reloads
  • Slight increase to stereo spread
  • Fixed a bug where incorrect footstep and jump land sounds would play on elevated edges
  • Fixed a bug where music would stop playing at the end of deathmatch

MISC

  • Changed armor number in buy menu from amount you currently have to amount you can buy
  • Various fixes for weapon finishes, gloves, and stickers
  • Water rendering performance improvements
  • Added nametag positions for all knife models
  • Allow adjusting individual player voice volumes
  • Various HUD bug fixes and tweaks
  • Added option to disallow animated avatars
  • Removed several legacy networking convars that existed in CS:GO but never had an effect in CS2

CS2 September 14 2023 Release Notes

Here are the CS2 release notes for September 14:

MAPS

  • Anubis
    • Various clipping adjustments

GAMEPLAY

  • Rebalanced lag compensation to favor lower-latency players
  • Fixed a bug where dropped grenades were invisible
  • Fixed a bug where dropped bombs and weapons would appear in the wrong location

MISC

  • Various bug fixes and tweaks to weapon finishes

I express hope that Valve will someday make us happy and allow us to hold our weapons in our left hand soon. Make sure to familiarize yourself with essential smokes on new Inferno in CS2 if you want to gain a competitive advantage in your matches.
