In Starfield, Bethesda has provided players with a plethora of personalization options. Along with other features, you can choose your parents, engage in romantic relationships with a select few of your companions, and even marry them. Additionally, you can have your own home in Starfield. However, can you have a pet in Starfield, similar to how you had Dogmeat in Fallout 4? Here’s what you need to know.
Can You Adopt a Pet in Starfield?
Currently, it is not possible to have a pet in Starfield. It is uncertain whether Bethesda will release a DLC to include this feature or if the modding community will create a mod to add the feature.
One player encountered a bug that allowed an Ankylosaurus to board their ship. The player managed to trap the wildlife specimen while on a planet in Starfield by glitching it onto their spaceship, which, technically, could be classed as them now having a pet. The downside to this is that the user reported that the fast-travel system was disabled because of it, though.
Are Dogs and Cats in Starfield?
Throughout my gameplay, I have not found a single dog or cat, nor has anyone else confirmed the presence of man’s best friends. Bethesda, please add something like Cosmo and Goose from Marvel to Starfield.
The absence of pets is absolutely heart-wrenching, so find out how to buy Med Packs in Starfield to ease your pain.
