Link’s legendary Master Sword makes its triumphant return in Tears of the Kingdom, and unlike ordinary weapons, this one is unbreakable after you manage to fix it. If you’re interested in learning the secret to obtaining this formidable weapon, read on.
Steps on How to Repair the Master Sword in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
To repair the Master Sword after Ganondorf breaks it at the beginning of the game, follow these steps:
- Find all the Geoglyph locations, including the 12th hidden one.
- Get onto the Light Dragon’s head.
- Pull the sword out.
How to Get the Master Sword
The geoglyphs around the Tears of the Kingdom map are part of the main quest, “Impa and the Geoglyphs,” and are directly tied to the Master Sword. You can start this quest very early in the game at the New Serenne Stable. Finding each of the geoglyphs will require players to utilize the various Skyview Towers to find a specific spot where a memory is stored. After finding each location, you’ll be guided to a secret, final geoglyph in Akkala. After viewing the final memory here, the Light Dragon will be closer to the surface and will, at least for the moment, be closer to Link.
Since completing “Impa and the Geoglyphs” brings the Light Dragon to Link’s location, you can take this opportunity to get onto its back via a Skyview Tower. However, it’s important to note that retrieving the Master Sword requires you to have a minimum of two full stamina wheels. If you find that your stamina is lacking, you can locate the Light Dragon at a later point. It typically flies the perimeter of the map and never goes into the Depths. There is also a quest you can start that will make tracking the Master Sword much easier.
Additional Tips to Finding the Master Sword
You can start the quest, “Recovering the Hero’s Sword,” to show you where the Master Sword is on the map. This quest can only be started after clearing the gloom out of Korok Forest, and while not necessary, it is a great way to track the sword down later.
Now that you know how to repair the Master Sword, you may want to work on finding every Shrine. These will make traveling easier and get you those much-needed blessings to trade at Goddess statues.
