Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be out for nearly every platform on Nov. 10, but players can start playing the story mode one week beforehand. Here is how to get early access to the MW3 campaign before its full release.
How to Get Campaign Early Access for MW3
The only method to get MW3 campaign early access is by pre-ordering the game. Players can pre-order either version of the game, the Standard/Cross-Gen Edition or Vault Edition, but it must be a digital copy of the game.
The early access offer works for digital versions across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam or Battle.net launcher. Those who pre-order will be able to start playing the campaign on Thursday, November 2 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
MW3 Campaign Preload Date and File Size
Players who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be able to start preloading the campaign on Wednesday, November 1 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. It is important to note that this is just for the campaign and not the full game.
Recent Call of Duty games have been split up between single-player and multiplayer modes, allowing players to choose what they want to download to save space. The MW3 campaign will consist of two packs, and the campaign download size will be around 51 GB.
However, the Call of Duty HQ launcher is also required to access the game. The Call of Duty HQ is an additional 89 GB if you do not have Warzone or a previous Call of Duty game. That means new players will need to have 140 GB total to play the MW3 campaign.
