Now watch more sports than you can possibly fathom.

If you ever wanted to get more sports out of your ESPN app on Xbox Live – without actually tuning into the channel itself, because who knows how many Mike D’Antoni updates you can take, right? – Microsoft has some good news for you.

The publisher has announced, in conjunction with the sports network, that it has added new live content to the app, free of charge.  These include My Sports, which allows you to check on coverage for your particular teams; Mini Guide, which breaks down whatever content you’re looking for without having to root through various menus; Split Screen, where you can watch two updates at once if you feel like you can’t focus on just one; Reminders, for when you want to watch a particular match-up; Interactive ESPN BottomLine, which gives you score updates on what you want to see; and Gesture Control, supported by the Kinect.  These will apply with the most recently released update for the app.

And starting in December, the app will also support Microsoft’s SmartGlass, so that you can immerse yourself deeper in the world of ESPN and news.
