Although monsters in Lethal Company are dangerous and can quickly wipe out your entire team in the blink of an eye, the same can be said for weather conditions, especially since nearly all of them can kill you instantly. Here’s how to avoid and escape quicksand while it’s raining.
How to Avoid and Escape Quicksand in Lethal Company
Quicksand is a hazard in Lethal Company that spawns during rainy weather and is characterized by its dark appearance compared to the rest of the map’s ground. On maps like Offense, you can differentiate it by carefully looking at the ground for dark brown, nearly black patches of mud and avoiding them.
It also helps to stand at your ship and quickly look around before venturing to your moon’s facility. After all, there’s nothing worse than arriving at your destination, climbing out of your ship, and immediately dying in quicksand.
Let’s just say the first time I played this map, I jumped over the ship’s rail and met my end within seconds. It was an unexpected death, but it got laughs out of the whole team, including myself.
At night, you may have a hard time spotting quicksand. The lack of sunlight and the threat of outdoor enemies can make it very challenging to note these. Pay extra attention to the floor as you’re running back to your ship, memorizing some of the quicksand’s locations if possible, and keep some battery life in your flashlight for times when you’re uncertain.
Escaping Quicksand
If you accidentally step into some quicksand, run out quickly, sprinting backwards if necessary before it consumes you whole. It will not instantly drag you into its murky depths; Instead, you’ll slowly descend into the mud, and as you go deeper, it’ll become increasingly difficult to escape. Once you realize you’re in quicksand, sprint back onto dry land as soon as possible.
Quicksand sometimes spawns in the same locations when you arrive on a rainy map. If you remember where quicksand appeared on a moon the last time you visited, it may be there again, allowing you to avoid that spot and take a different route.
