Palworld’s early access officially begins on January 19, 2024, when it is initially playable on PC and Xbox consoles. Let’s find out if Pocketpair plans to release Palworld on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles and whether that’ll happen during the game’s early access or full release.
Is Palworld on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5?
No, Palworld is not coming to PS4 or PS5 anytime soon. The most recent update was during an early access FAQ post, where Pocketpair confirmed that they don’t have plans to launch the game on PS5, indicating that we won’t see a PS4 release anytime soon either.
Not all hope is lost, as this post specifies that a PS5 release will be considered during the game’s development. In other words, while we’re unlikely to see the game launch on PlayStation consoles during early access, this may change once the game fully releases in a year or two.
However, this mainly applies to a future release on the PlayStation 5. There is currently no information on whether PS4 also fits into this category. Alongside brief PS5 development details, the post primarily highlights information regarding price, multiplayer capabilities, and crossplay, among other facts.
In the meantime, Palworld is available to play in early access starting on January 19 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Depending on your platform, you’ll have multiple purchase options, from buying it full price on Steam to playing it day one through Xbox Game Pass if you have an active subscription.
Otherwise, if you prefer waiting for a PlayStation console launch, you may have to wait several months to a year before hearing further updates about a potential PS5 version. While there are no guarantees this will happen, the possibility remains.
