At the heart of every base is oil. Here’s how to find every oil vein in Ark Survival Ascendent: Scorched Earth.
Every Oil Vein Location in Ark Survival Ascendent: Scorched Earth
The further you get into the game, the more you’ll find that there’s one viscous substance you’re in dire need of: oil. Oil is essential for creating gasoline, prime meat jerky, grenades, industrial crafters, soap, traps, you name it. But it is very hard to find in Ark Survival Ascended: Scorched Earth.
So far, I’ve found five oil veins in Scorched Earth, at the following coordinates:
- 40.8, 90
- 35.4, 75.6
- 49.2, 79
- 50.8, 84.3
- 44.1, 64
The first set of coordinates will take you into the dunes, on the east side of the map. If you don’t mind risking the heat and possible Deathworms, this oil vein is not all that far from a possible spawn point, and it’s easy to find, as it’s surrounded by trees.
The second set of coordinates will take you into the mountains, to the northeast. Here, you’ll find yourself on red soil and surrounded by bones. Unfortunately, it’s a little harder to find this oil vein spot. But the green tower in the distance and the t-rex skull pointing at it can help you pin it down.
The third oil ven can be found in the mideast of the map, closet to the massive green obelisk. Simply look for the bones and you’ll be well on your way. Though there are a lot of predators surroudning this particular vein. The fourth oil vein will have you continue south, along the craggy soil, where it wil be surrounded by underbrush.
Once you’ve found an oil vein, you’ll need an oil pump to make use of it. Oil pumps can be crafted at level 60, but require electronics and fabricators. And to get electronics, you’ll need silica pearls, which can be found in certain hotspots along the river in the center of the map.
But if that all sounds like too much work, you can also tame the Dung Beetle, which can produce fertilizer and oil. Not the most glamorous dinosaur to have on your base, but useful!
