Return to Prima’s Lords of the Fallen walkthrough!
Head into the area to the right to find an audio note and a Marauder directly ahead. Before you engage the enemy, turn to the right as soon as you enter the area to find another portal in the corner. When you enter the portal, open the chest to release a light that leads you to a second chest that’s locked.
Defeat the Rogue that attacks, then move into the illuminated area ahead. Take out the two Infected enemies and one Rogue that attack. The Rogue may be hidden in the shadows using ranged attacks. Run toward him to flush him out. With the enemies down, open the chest in the illuminated area to find an Energy Shard and a Qamar Staff weapon.
Look around to see that the light released from the first chest is off in the distance. Head toward the light (no pun intended), and a Rogue and Marauder attack. Take them out, then touch the light. This sends the light toward the previously locked chest. You need to run (not walk) to chase after the light. As long as it hovers over the chest, the chest remains open. As soon as the light moves back, the chest closes and you’ll need to touch the light again. Inside the chest is a Fire Resistance Shard and a Sealed Rune (Small).
Collect all of the items, then head back through the portal. Go down the path to the left of the portal, collect the Bloody Flint (a quest item you’ll need later) and take out the Marauder. Head to the end of the path and kill the Rogue at the end. Pick up the audio note, then turn around and head back to the area where the previous audio note and Marauder were found.
Continue down the path, moving beyond the location of the Marauder. Defeat the three Rogues ahead, then access the checkpoint. If you would like some extra XP and a Guardman greataxe, head to the left. A Temple Guardian waits ahead. These enemies are very formidable and will not go down easy. Watch out for his shield stun, as he will follow it with a potentially deadly stab. Keep on the move to make your way behind the enemy for a Surprise Attack. Magic works very well here if you have it available. If not, use the ranged attack from your Gauntlet if you’re not doing well at close range. If the Guardian dashes toward you, be ready to dodge to avoid the attack that follows.
An Advanced Infested awaits to the left, just beyond the Temple Guardian. It has far more health than the average Infested, so be careful when fighting it. Two normal Infested enemies and a Rogue with flaming ranged attacks await at the end of the path. Avoid the attacks from the Rogue as they deal flame damage over time that adds up quickly.
With all of the enemies down, use a rune to open the chest on the left wall (just before the end of the path). Inside you’ll find a Guardman greataxe weapon and an Empty Bottle. Head up the stairs to find two more Temple Guardians. Use ranged attacks to draw one down the stairs so you don’t have to engage them both at the same time.
Defeat both enemies, then head back to the checkpoint. There’s a the door to the left at the end of the path, but at the moment it’s locked and cannot be accessed. When you get back to the checkpoint, head down the hallway to the left. As soon as you enter the hallway, there’s an audio note to the right. Hiding right behind the note is another Rogue. There’s a door behind the Rogue, but it’s currently locked.
Continue around the corner to find two Marauders ahead. Defeat them, then take down the two Infested near the end of the path. Head to the left before you reach the archway at the end. Do not go through the door (it’s locked). Instead, head up the stairs to the left of the door.
Take out the two Rogues at the top and light the fire in the middle to get the attention of another Rogue. Kill the Marauder at the bottom of the stairs and remember this room because you’ll be coming back to it very soon. Head up the small set of stairs and open the chest in the next room to obtain an Empty Bottle, a Heavy Shield and a Buckler shield.
Pull the lever to open the gate, which leads back to the previously locked gate near the last portal. This is a shortcut in case you need to access either area quickly. If you wish to jump ahead to the next boss battle, you can at this point, or you can leave this area and head back to the archway. It is recommended to take the longer way to the boss because there’s a checkpoint just before the boss battle if you take the slightly longer way.
If you wish to face the boss now and obtain the Guard’s Greatsword weapon, go back to the previous room with the Marauder and drop down near the stairs to find a chest below. Open the chest to find a Guard’s Greatsword, Magic Resistance Shard and an Empty Bottle. Continue down the path and pick up the audio note along the way. At the end of the path is the graveyard and the boss battle against the Worshiper (jump down to that section for tips).
If you’d prefer to take the longer way, head back around to the archway and pass through it and down the stairs that follow. Make note of the portal you pass on the way down. Two Golems await at the bottom of the stairs. They can spot you from a great distance and will hit fast and hard, but they don’t have a ton of health points. They are also very susceptible to magic attacks like the Gauntlet. Defeat both Golems, then head into the area at the bottom of the stairs to engage the Rogue.
Head through the next archway to find another closed portal and a chest to the right. Open the chest to find a Steel Dagger, Steel Sword and Ghost Merge Shard. Save your progress at the checkpoint, collect the Human Skull quest item to the right of the checkpoint (you’ll need this later), then speak to Kaslo, who is standing to the right, just before the checkpoint. Ask him what your role is to proceed.
Open the Pathway
Make your way toward the graveyard to the left. Pull the lever to open the gate. Continue through the gate to initiate a cut-scene followed by the boss battle against the Worshiper.
Boss Battle: Worshiper
Bonus Requirement: Position the mini Golems so the Worshiper kills at least two of them.
Before you can defeat the Worshiper, there are a few things you need to know. First off, make note of the locations of the five archways in the graveyard. When the Worshiper uses any magic attacks, standing within the archways will keep you safe. This is especially important when you see the Worshiper get down on one knee and make a horizontal swooping motion with his arm. This indicates that the entire graveyard is about to be engulfed in a magic explosion. If you’re not standing in one of the archways when this happens, it results in instant death.
You can also use the archways to your advantage in other ways. If you can lure the Worshiper to one of the archways, then get him to attack the archway (in an attempt to hit you), the archway will crumble, but the Worshiper will be stunned for a lengthy period of time. Before this happens, make sure you’re ready with your most devastating attack to take full advantage of the stun.
The best strategy against the Worshiper is to equip light armor with a shield that absorbs 100 percent physical damage, and stay close to him. At this range, he primarily uses a close-range stun. When he lifts his weapon into the air, quickly move to his side and back away. With light armor, you shouldn’t need to dodge back, but if you aren’t moving fast enough you may want to dodge or even run to make sure you’re far enough away. If you’re within range of the stun attack, you won’t be able to move for a few seconds. This is long enough for the Worshiper to hit you with the first attack in his two-hit melee attack combo that always follows the close-range stun attack (whether it connects or not).
With light armor and a fast weapon, you should have time to avoid the stun, move back to within attack range and hit the Worshiper at least once before he can swing with his weapon. Depending on your gear configuration, you may have to dodge immediately following your attack, but even with only one hit, every little bit helps during this fight. The Worshiper has a lot of health and does not go down quickly in most cases.
If you back away, the Worshiper uses one of two long-range attacks. The first is a spread of magic grenades. The Worshiper moves his arm in a sweeping motion, similar to the instant kill attack except that he’s not on his knees. This is followed by four grenades being tossed in your direction. They inflict considerable damage, but if you stay on the move they’re relatively easy to avoid.
The second long-range attack is a series of magic pillars that shoot up from the ground. When the Worshiper kneels down as if to pray, you must continuously move or take refuge in an archway. Several blue patches appear on the ground under your character (unless you’re beneath an archway). When the patch appears, you will take damage if you’re not moving, then you’ll take additional damage with the spiked pillar rises out of the patch. This generally occurs three times, and will follow you as you move around attempting to avoid the attack.
Finally, the Worshiper will call on mini Golems to assist him in battle. When he triumphantly raises his weapon into the air, this is the signal that the Golems are about to appear. Two egg-like objects appear in the graveyard, then hatch into mini Golems shortly after. You generally have time to get to one of the eggs before it hatches, but they’re usually too far apart to get to both. If you can reach an egg, it only takes a single attack to break it and prevent the Golem from hatching.
If a Golem hatches, it immediately attacks you. However, the Golems take damage from the Worshiper just like you do. It can be stunned by the Worshiper’s attacks, and even if the Golem is inside the archway with you when the instant kill attack goes off, it will still die. While the Golems aren’t overly difficult to kill, if you’d rather focus on the Worshiper, it’s relatively easy to get them caught in the Worshiper’s close-range stun attack. With proper positioning, you can even get the Worshiper to attack the Golems in an effort to hit you.
Defeat the Worshiper to find a Clawfinger weapon and a Sealed Rune (Big). Scattered around the graveyard you’ll also find four Human Skull quest items and two audio notes. Collect the items, then head back and speak to Kaslo. Before you continue, head back up the staircase you came down to find the portal open.
Head through the portal to enter the Proving Grounds. Step into the middle of the arena to begin. Within the Proving Grounds you face off against three waves of enemies. The first wave consists of a Marauder and a Rogue, the second are two Rogues (one ranged, one melee) and an Infested, and the third is a Temple Guardian and an Infested. Focus on one enemy at a time, and use magic and ranged attacks to kill as many enemies as you can before they reach you and begin attacking.
Defeat all three waves to earn a chest that contains a Back Breaker armor, Attribute Point Shard and Spell Point Shard. Collect the items, then head back through the portal. You can also go back to the room with the Marauder that leads to the shortcut to the Worshiper boss battle if you haven’t gone down that path yet and wish to obtain the items along the route.
Continue on to destroy the Lords’ Gate to Keystone and beat the Infiltrator boss!
