Street Fighter 5 doesn’t have a release date yet, but that hasn’t stopped Capcom and Sony from giving fans trailers and gameplay demos to keep them excited. Today the two companies have released the character trailer for Charlie Nash. The returning character was teased at the end of the Street Fighter 5 video that was shown at the Capcom Cup tournament late last year. This new trailer shows off Charlie fighting against Chun-Li and Ryu.
In the past Charlie has been the replacement for Guile in the Street Fighter Alpha series. However, this new trailer makes it clear that Charlie and Guile will no longer be replacements for one another (assuming Guile is included in SF5 and retains his trademark move set). While Charlie has a Sonic Boom and Flash Kick, he also has teleports, and various other tricks that have never been seen from the two characters in the past.
Alongside the Charlie Nash trailer, Sony announced a Street Fighter 5 online beta program. According to Sony, the upcoming beta will be the largest and most ambitious online beta program in Street Fighter franchise history. Full details on the beta have yet to be released (including a date), but in North America the beta will be available for anyone who pre-orders the game for the PlayStation 4 or PC.
