Hardcore amiibo collectors know there’s precious little breathing room between waves. As soon as Nintendo releases the newest figure (in this case, Dark Pit), fans begin speculating on future release dates and making plans to camp out and/or pre-order at their favorite retailer(s). Due to limited supply, it’s common to experience excitement, anxiety and disappointment.
With this in mind, September 11, 2015 will be a day long remembered among the amiibo faithful. In addition to Super Mario Maker releasing for the Wii U, Nintendo will also bring several long-awaited figures to stores across North America.
The list includes:
- Dr. Mario
- Ganondorf
- Bowser Jr.
- Captain Olimar
- Zero Suit Samus
- Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary Mario amiibo
On top of that, a retro three pack containing Duck Hunt, R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch comes out on September 25. Over the past few days it seemed GameStop would carry this exclusively, but the fact that Nintendo makes no mention of this in its latest press release suggests these figures will also appear elsewhere. We’ll confirm this in the coming days.
Finally, a three pack of Mii Fighters were due to release in September, but Nintendo moved this bundle to November.
