Time has flown by since the release of Destiny 2, and now we’re coming up on the game’s first Valentine’s Day event. While the makeup of this year’s Destiny 2 Crimson Days event will be quite different from previous years, fans are still looking forward to the chance to get access to new gear and cool loot. If you want to make the most of the event, then you’re going to need to know when the Destiny 2 Crimson Days event starts. We’ve got all the details below, so mark your calendars and get ready for your Guardian’s next thrill ride.
When Does Crimson Days Begin?
The Crimson Days event for Destiny 2 will kick off on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on February 13, a day before Valentine’s day. Like previous years, the update will focus on the new 2v2 Crucible mode that challenges players to stick together to get an increased buff to their Super recharge rates. Stray too far from your teammate and not only will you lose this buff, but you’ll also end up showing up on your enemy’s map via a waypoint, leading them right to you.
This means that players will be forced to pair up and stick together if they want to win in this Clash-styled Crucible mode, and you’ll even have the option of joining this mode Solo, which means players who don’t normally play Crucible can still get in on the action without needing friends to get involved if they don’t want to.
On top of the new Crucible mode, players will also be able to get their hands on Crimson Engrams, which can only be obtained through gameplay means. This means you won’t be able to purchase them with real money, so nobody should feel any outside pressure to drop any kind of cash on the event. You will need to at least be Level 20 (if you don’t own the DLC) or Level 25 if you do own Curse of Osiris to get these Engrams, so keep that in mind.
There are also a series of Milestones that will come with the event, allowing you plenty of chances to earn new rewards, gear, and other useful items along the way. The Destiny 2 Crimson Days Event will end on February 20, the following weekly reset for the game. This gives players a total of seven days to complete all of the Milestones and get the items that they want or need.
