If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to play a LEGO game from the villain’s perspective, then LEGO DC Super-Villains is the game for you. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, alongside TT Games and The LEGO Group, announced that LEGO DC Super-Villains will be headed to consoles and PC in October, offering a new villain-centric adventure unlike any LEGO game before.
This is the first time that LEGO fans will get to play as a DC villain throughout an entire game. The villain that players create will get to team up with other iconic villains from the DC universe, such as the Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, The Riddler, and more.
“LEGO DC Super-Villains provides players a fun and humorous way to cause mischief by unleashing their DC Super-Villain’s sinister powers and amusing abilities,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director at TT Games. “With an unprecedented amount of customization options to choose from, players can create and customize their character at the start of the story, unlocking new powers and abilities as they progress through the funniest LEGO game to date.”
In LEGO DC Super-Villains, the Justice League is gone and has been replaced by another group from a parallel universe named the Justice Syndicate. When legendary villains from the Legion of Doom suspect that this new group is up to no good, they must team up to thwart the newcomers’ plans before it’s too late.
“LEGO DC Super-Villains gives players a new way to play with their favorite DC characters with a splash of light-hearted, villainous antics,” said Sean McEvoy, VP Digital Games at The LEGO Group. “Players will enjoy exploring the expansive DC universe in the way only a LEGO game can deliver.”
LEGO DC Super-Villains will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 16, 2018. There will be Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game, the latter of which offers Season Pass content and early access to the forthcoming DC Super-Villains character pack DLC. The physical version of the Deluxe Edition also comes with an exclusive LEGO mini-figure of Lex Luthor Superman, so collectors may want to snag a physical copy if possible.
