Archangel: Hellfire Brings Mech Games to Life Like Never Before

Built on the shoulders of previous mech games, Archangel: Hellfire offers a true mech experience unlike anything ever seen before.

Archangel: Hellfire was crafted from the ground up to provide a realistic feeling mech experience that doesn’t hold back in any capacity. The game was created by a group of developers that loved mechs, grew up loving mechs, and wanted to bring their dream of the ultimate mech game to life.

In a new behind-the-scenes video of Archangel: Hellfire, players can get a glimpse into the history of the developers, and even learn a little bit about why the developers chose to make the game the way they did. In the video, Peter Akemann, the co-founded of Skydance Interactive, discusses some of his history with mechs and why he loves them so much.

“I think the mech captures an almost archetypal idea in the human mind of how our technology makes us something greater than ourselves.”

He continued later in the video, stating, “The way I see a mech, is it’s more than just a machine. It’s not simply a tank of a helicopter, or something else. It’s an anthropomorphic machine. It looks and it feels like me. It expresses my expressions. It moves with my hands and it tracks my head. It’s a projection of myself into something greater than myself.”

It was this idea that helped spur Peter and others into the idea that would eventually evolve into Hellfire: Archangel. On top of this idea, though, the developers of the game also have a broad history when it comes to mechs, having grown up playing things like Battletech, and even creating Ironclad before the studio evolved into Skydance Interactive.

Archangel: Hellfire is a game that was created to be simple, fun, and enjoyable to play by bother the players and the developers. The game was built on the shoulders of older mech games, using the inspiration that the developers drew from them to help create the ultimate mech experience in virtual reality.
