The class-based battle royale shooter Realm Royale is headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon, according to an announcement today from developer Hi-Rez Studios. Realm Royale will begin its console Closed Beta sometime next week, though no exact date has been revealed yet.
Those who are interested in being one of the first players to experience Realm Royale on console will need to sign up for the Closed Beta on the official Realm Royale Closed Beta signup page. Realm Royale is already available in Early Access on PC, with nearly four million players on Steam. The impending console beta will likely have a decent turnout as well, so make sure to enlist as soon as possible if you want to participate.
According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, Hi-Rez will message Closed Beta access codes to five random people who comment on the post. If you want to increase your chances of getting into the Realm Royale Closed Beta on console, then be sure to drop a comment there as well.
Realm Royale is free-to-play, but offers its own Battle Pass similar to Fortnite and PUBG. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Realm Royale works a bit differently than its popular contemporaries.
Realm Royale features a 100-player showdown on a massive fantasy-inspired map where you must collect weapons and try to survive as long as possible. What sets the game apart are its RPG-like character classes and unique crafting system that allows players to forge their own weapons, armor, and abilities. If that sounds interesting, then be sure to sign up for the Realm Royale Closed Beta and keep an eye on your inbox for an invite over the coming week.
Hi-Rez has not mentioned anything about porting the game to Nintendo Switch, but since they’ve recently brought their other hero shooter Paladins to the Switch, then there’s a good chance that Realm Royale will make its way to the Switch sometime in the future.
