If you’ve played Destiny 2 for any amount of time, then you’ve probably acquired a large collection of Shaders during your time in the game. This was one of the more annoying things throughout the game’s first year, as there was never any kind of option that let you quickly delete Shaders in Destiny 2. Instead, you’d have to go in and delete Shaders one by one, which could take a considerable amount of time depending on how many you had racked up. Now there’s a new way that will allow you to delete Shaders in Destiny 2 very quickly.
How to Delete Shaders Quickly
Deleting Shaders quickly is a new option introduced in the latest update for Destiny 2. While you can’t do it directly from your Inventory, in order to start deleting Shaders quickly—and in bulk—you’ll only need to make your way to the The Tower, where you will want to speak to the Cryptarch. This shouldn’t be too tall of an order for any Guardians who have spent a good amount of time in the game.
Once you reach The Tower, speak to Master Rahool, the Tower’s Cryptarch. He’s the NPC the handles all of your Engram decrypting, and you’ve probably already spent a good deal of time talking to him throughout your career as a Guardian in the Destiny series.
After you talk to Master Rahool, you can find an option to delete a ton of Shaders at one time by looking for the Shader Recycling tab. It’s not a very obvious option, so you’ll need to clear out any Engrams you’re waiting to decrypt, and then select the correct tab. Once you’re in the Shader Recycling tab, you should be able to hover the cursor over the Shaders that you want to delete and then press the prompt that appears depending on your platform. This will allow you to delete five Shaders at a time.
While it isn’t exactly that quick, being able to delete five Shaders at once, versus the one at a time method from before is a pretty big upgrade. We can only hope that future updates to the game will allow us to do even more, making it even easier to delete Shaders and other items that we don’t need at the time.
