Hitman 2 is less than a month from release now, which means it’s time to start looking to Agent 47’s future. Ahead of release, IO Interactive is already gearing up for tons of after-release content, including even more of the one-chance-no-retry missions to hunt down Elusive Targets. Brought to life by acclaimed actor, Sean Bean, the first Elusive Target that players will have the chance to hunt down is Mark Faba, a freelance assassin known formerly as “The Undying”.
A master at faking his own death, Faba has been a huge pain in the ICA’s (International Contract Agency) side for a while now. It’s up to Agent 47 to finally take down the master, with the help of the player, of course. As with previous Elusive Target missions in the Hitman series, players will only be given one chance to take down The Undying. If they fail, they won’t get a chance to retry the mission, so make sure every step that you take counts.
Bean himself is excited about the new part, stating in the announcement that “It’s always exciting to take on a new role, and I’m looking forward to everyone seeing my character in action when the mission launches.” Anyone who has followed Sean Bean’s history in cinema and television is probably aware of the running gag that all of his characters die in the end, so to see him taking on the part of The Undying definitely feels a bit tongue in cheek. Of course, it’s up to the players to keep the gag going, and we’re sure that many will prove more than up to the task at hand.
This first Elusive Target mission will be available starting on November 20, a short week after the game’s initial release into the wild. Players will have a total of 10 days to log in and attempt to take down Mark Faba at the Global Innovation Race in Miami. As with any Hitman contract, how you complete the kill is up to you, just make sure Faba’s actually dead this time around.
You can check out the interactive trailer above—and even visit the Hitman website to vote on a special weapon that will appear later on in the Hitman 2 campaign. This is just the start of IO Interactive’s plans to release new content for Hitman 2 after the game’s initial release, and any fans following up from their previous Hitman release will know that they have a good track record of providing fun and entertaining content for their fanbase to devour.
