Despite its name, players will most definitely die more than twice in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice from the studio behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne. With a stunning narrative, fluid combat mechanics, and a challenge that makes Dark Souls look like a tuturial, there is more than enough gaming goodness to be found in FromSoftware’s latest title, though one player found even more.
YouTuber Lance McDonald is known for restoring cut content from some of our favorite games and his latest discovery uncoverss a few interesting details, including how differently the Recovery Charm was originally supposed to work.
In Shadows Die Twice, players can cure everyone’s dragonrot all at the same time with the Recovery Charm. Hidden away in the game’s files, McDonald discovered that the initial method was going to be through the use of Dragonrot Pellots to be used on characters one at a time. It looks like FromSoftware had at least a little mercy on us.
What makes this discovery even better is that when the Pellots were restored, new dialogue options were also revealed when speaking with Dogen. Though not a game-changing conversation, Sekiro is very big on the lore and interchange of characters, which can make the additional dialogue even better for fans itching to learn everything there is to learn about the game.
