Prima Games will be launching an official podcast here shortly over the coming months but sometimes you just can’t wait. With all of the accusations once more about video games being the cause of violence, I wanted to share something from my past as a veteran that shows how they can be literal lifesavers. With 30 playthroughs of the original Mass Effect trilogy, this 12-minute video talks about a time when I was literally staring death in the face and how this fictional franchise from BioWare saved my life.
A little about Liana, our current Editor in Chief:
Liana served in the US Navy and was medically retired back in 2015. She served on several deployments, including a ship tour mentioned in the above video upon the USS Harry S. Truman. She’s been all over the world, both before her service and after, and is a huge advocate for mental health awareness and being open about being a community. She’s also been gaming for over 30 years, so whenever she can intermingle the two topics – she will.
