When FromSoftware, the team that gave us Bloodborne and the iconic Dark Souls series, revealed their upcoming Elden Ring game, fans that love to hurt a little bit got super amped. While the first look at what Elden Ring looked incredible, we didn’t know when we’d actually see the title but it looks like we could be experiencing it for ourselves as soon as this Summer!
With Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin at the helm of this gorgeous open-world adventure, it’s easy to get excited about a potential early release. If a recent New Year’s celebration e-mail is anything to go by, it looks like we’ll be seeing it this June.
The New Year’s card was also hosted on the developer’s official website with the final paragraph proclaiming:
“You can choose from three types, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Metal Wolf Chaos XD, released in 2019, and Elden Ring released in June.” This messaging was meant to talk about the image on the card being available later as a wallpaper for smartphones but what it actually did was make us stupidly exciting for June.
June being the month of E3 and a whole host of game releases would make sense for this adventure, though there’s also the possibility that the typing was a misprint or a mistake. As likely as this Elden Ring release date seems, it’s important to take all rumors, leaks, and reports with a grain of salt until an actual announcement is made.
