Bungie has revealed the Destiny 2 Beyond Light expansion which is set to release this September. During the livestream reveal event, developers teased that the mysterious being, known as the Exo Stranger, will make her grand return in the expansion. While we don’t know a lot about the Exo Strangers role in Destiny 2 Beyond Light, we do know a little bit.
Destiny 2 Beyond Light Exo Stranger Returns
During the showcase, Bungie teased the return of the Exo Stranger to Destiny 2 in a big way. In a clip, which can be seen below, it appears that The Drifter and Eris Morn were called to meet with the Exo Stranger to see The Pyramid, which is the epicenter of Darkness. It’s unclear what the stranger’s intentions are with the two characters, but many believe that the Exo Stranger will play a significant role in the upcoming destruction of the Almighty live event.
Part of the lore of the Exo Stranger is that she wasn’t forged in the light, doesn’t have a Ghost, and walks around with advanced tech. In the clip above, she appears to have some type of Ghost equivalent that travels with her. At the time of writing, it’s unclear what this is, but it appears to be quite similar to a Ghost.
If you played through the original Destiny, you may remember the Exo Stranger as the mysterious character who appeared multiple times throughout the main storyline and appeared to have advanced, unrecognizable tech. The Exo Stranger hasn’t been seen since her appearance in the original game, but it seems she is now back and we might finally learn more about her lore, origins, and what she’s up to. The developers have promised more info on Beyond Light in the coming weeks and months leading up to its release, so hopefully, we will learn more about the Exo Stranger’s intentions soon.
