Xbox Series X Reportedly Costs $599

That's one allegedly pricey console.

We are just a few months away from the next generation of video game consoles, and with both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X already revealing the hardware and specs, a few questions still remain. That said, a new report is claiming to know the price of Microsoft’s new console and it is not exactly wallet-friendly.

During a recent installment of the Kinda Funny Xcast (thanks, Forbes), gaming journalist/host Alanah Pearce noted that a source DMed her an image of an internal retail listing for Xbox Series X. The listing stated that the console will launch in November, but also has the price set for $599, which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it. One one hand, if the hardware is that powerful, it warrants a price to match. On the other hand, that is awfully expensive.

As can be seen in the video above at the 41:18 minute mark, Pearce mentions how an anonymous source DMed her a photo of the internal retail listing. Rumors and leaks are pointing to a November 6th launch date, but when it comes to price, this listing puts the Xbox Series X at $599. Of course, that’s a high price if it is indeed the actual amount Microsoft is setting their next-gen console at. There is also a possibility that this is just a placeholder for the authentic price, even if it is oddly specific. At the end of the day, we won’t know until Microsoft announces something a bit more official, which is anyone’s guess as to when that is going to happen.

For the time being, we know that Xbox Series X will be arriving this November, but we do not know the specific date at this point, nor do we know the official price. With about three months to go before launch, there is a good chance that Microsoft will be revealing more in the very near future.
