Outriders, the third-person looter-shooter developed by People Can Fly, has been pushed to 2021. Initially slated for Holiday 2020, the team has revealed a new date of February 2, 2021. People Can Fly cite “COVID-19” as the main reason behind the delay, which is understandable as we have seen many developers struggle with the transition to a work from home lifestyle.

People Can Fly detail what exactly they still need to work on below.
“It had been our full intention to deliver Outriders to you within the Holiday 2020 season. COVID-19 has certainly affected our operations over the past months, but the teams have all worked extremely hard to adapt to changing circumstances. While the core game is now in a largely complete state, our testing operations were unfortunately among the most affected by the work-process-restructuring caused by the novel coronavirus. To that end, we need a bit more time to get it right and ensure that the Outriders experience will be as smooth and issue-free as it possibly can be when we launch. It is our utmost priority to give you the best and most complete Outriders experience possible, at all costs.”
Ok, now for some good news. Outriders will support a full cross-play experience no matter what console or computer you’re on. This helps further breakdown the barriers to playing with your friends, which is always welcome for a multiplayer game. Outriders will also offer everyone a free next-gen upgrade for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. No additional purchase necessary.
