During the Cyberpunk 2077 stream this morning CD Projekt Red showed off not only the next-gen update for the game but a bevy of changes coming to all platforms with patch 1.5
Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Update & Patch 1.5 Out Now
Patch 1.5 is a huge overhaul of major systems of the game, like perks, which now have new options to replace some unused and underutilized perks that were available at launch. The major one showed off during the stream was Death Dagger, which allows the player to throw their knife at enemies and have the knife automatically return back to you on a cooldown.
They also showed off reworked NPC and driver animations that make the world feel more alive and they no longer despawn while still in view. It’s important to note that the improved crowd reactions will not be part of the previous gen consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 also has some new free DLC weapons like the guillotine and Dab Umbra rifles. These can be found in Wildon’s stock, which resets every 24 hours of in-game time. The weapons also have some new scopes and muzzle brakes for players to customize the weapons further.
Character customization is now available in the mirror in V’s apartment, which gives you all of the options from the initial character creator. You can now customize your character at any point throughout Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt has also added new colors and hairstyle options coming alongside Patch 1.5.
You can also purchase four new apartments for V in-game around town like Corpo plaza, Japantown, Northside, and Glen. They are pricey, but give V options around town and allow players to have a place all around Night City.
All of the new apartments can be found not only at the computer in V’s apartment but also by tracking them in the Journal and going to the location to purchase them.
Later in the stream, the team talked about romance options, and some minor additions to help flesh out your relationships with these characters. You’ll be able to message them more often and even use their apartments as safe houses throughout the city.
On top of that, occasionally when you sleep you might wake up next to them to make the player feel more like they are in a relationship with these characters.
There’s a long list of patch notes not covered in the stream, which can be found here.
The next-gen update and patch 1.5 launches right now. If you haven’t picked up Cyberpunk 2077 yet there is a free five-hour trial on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 for the next 30 days. You can carry your progress over to the full version once you’ve purchased the games.
