How to Upgrade the Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok
If you want to upgrade the Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok, you will need a specific material. The material is called the Chaos Flame. A limited number of these are around because the Blades of Chaos can only be upgraded several times. You’ll generally obtain these from main story-centric missions; however, you’ll also be able to find Chaos Sparks, which can be combined to form a Chaos Flame.

The main story of God of War Ragnarok will net you five Chaos Flames. To obtain Chaos Sparks, you’ll need to complete and defeat the six Dragur Holes around all of the realms. We have a list of the location of every Dragur Hole if you’re trying to obtain the Chaos Sparks.
Once you have a Chaos Flame, head over to the workbench with Brok and Sindri anywhere in the world, you can then click on the Blades of Chaos and upgrade them with the square button. As long as you have a Chaos Flame, you’ll be able to keep upgrading the blades. It’s key to your survival.
