Warhammer 40K: Darktide brings with it all the co-op shooter shenanigans you could ask for. Want to be a full team of Ogryns charging in on a horde of enemies? You can do that. Want a four-person squad of witches? You can do that too. With all these characters comes plenty of Penances (challenges) to complete, and one of those for the Veteran can be a bit confusing. Here’s how to get the Long Bomb Achievement in Warhammer 40K: Darktide!
How to Complete the Long Bomb Achievement in Darktide
This should be obvious, though for starters you’ll want to start a mission as Veteran. Once you’re in, find a small group of (hopefully unalerted) enemies and pull out your grenade. This is likely where you ran into issues, and the description doesn’t give you much to work off of. As much as it sounds awkward, you’re going to want to throw your grenade at an upward angle to hit the crowd. As the achievement implies, the distance and landing directly on an enemy will cause it to not bounce and instead explode. Get this on a decent-sized crowd, and the achievement should be yours.

One thing that should also be noted is that the five kills can’t be earned over time. They all need to be earned with the same grenade, so you’ll need to make sure this is a nicely sized crowd. A few maps tend to have crowds that just stand still, so if you can get your teammates to cooperate with you (good luck), then it shouldn’t be too difficult a feat. While one of the less simple to get achievements, it’s also far from the hardest. Take Flawless Execution for example, which requires you to go 10 straight missions on difficulty 3 or higher without being downed.
