For the past couple of years, Valheim has maintained popularity within the open-world survival game genre. While it’s only been available exclusively on PC until now, many have speculated that the game would one day be playable on Xbox consoles, among others. While there was a time when this wasn’t confirmed, its release onto PC Game Pass in fall 2022 and the dawn of a new year sparked these thoughts once more. When is Valheim Coming to Xbox?
As of now, Valheim is currently available to purchase on PC through Steam, the Humble store and PC Game Pass. While this means it’s already available on the Xbox Game Pass platform, it isn’t technically available on Xbox. At least, it isn’t for now.
The Xbox release date was recently revealed through IGN’s 2023 Fan Fest, with the official Valheim Twitter account confirming it. You can anticipate Valheim’s Xbox release on March 14, 2023.

While the official Valheim Frequently Asked Questions page previously noted that the game would become available on Xbox in early 2023, the Fan Fest announcement has allowed us to pinpoint an exact date for the game to launch on this second platform.

There is fortunate news here for those who want to stay on PC but want to play with friends. The March 14 Xbox release for Valheim also includes full crossplay support, allowing you to play alongside friends on Xbox and vice versa.
