Cosplay is the perfect way for creative fans to let their fandom flag fly high. While we’ve shared some incredible cosplay in the past, including Dragon Age’s Morrigan and a Qunari Inquisitor, there’s one morally provacative character that doesn’t get a lot of love in the gaming community: Knight-Commander Meredith Stannard.
Let’s be real, she was batshit crazy long before the red lyrium, but the “red stuff,” as Varric likes to call it, took this templar’s distrust of mages in Thedas to an entirely new level in Dragon Age II. While skirting Hawke’s rise to the top of Kirkwall, she descended into madness in a city plagued by demons, a thin veil, and blood magic galore. This character comes with a lot of baggage and a lot of self-justification, making her incredibly complex – a complexity that one cosplayer absolutely nailed perfectly.

The cosplayer in question goes by “Commander Behemoth on Twitter @BehemotCat and her take on the Knight-Captain is beyond breathtaking. From the chantry setting in the background, to the harrowed look in her eyes, this rendition of Stannard has to be one of the best ones I’ve ever seen!
