Fallout 3, to this day, continues to be one of the most beloved titles in the overall Bethesda franchise. For those looking for a fresh new reason to dive back into that familiar wasteland, there’s a new Fallout 3 mod that lets you become a Supermutant and it’s actually pretty heckin’ cool.
The Fallout 3 mod is called Metamorphosis and its sole purpose is to transform the player into a Supermutant. Throughout my career, I’ve covered the mod community and many different sites and even create them in my free time, so super special shoutout to my buddy Brendan for linking me up to this particular project, because it’s awesome!
According to the Modder over on Nexus Mods, “In Vault 87 you will have an option to become a super mutant. Vault 87 is normally accessible during Finding the Garden of Eden main quest. You must not rescue Fawkes in order to start the quest.”
With this transformation, players will gain:
- +15 Damage Resistance
- +20 Poison Resistance
- Radiation Immunity
Even better, becoming a Supermutant lets you befriend other Supermutants, which opens up an entirely new layer of connection for the game. That being said, you’re also putting a giant target on your back with the Wasteland’s inhabitants
You win some, you lose some.
The modder also noted, “You won’t be able to equip human armors, but there’s a fairly large selection of 13 super mutant armors available. You can loot super mutant armor from super mutant corpses.”
They also added which new perks will unlock for this particular project:
- Steady Arm
- Psychotic
- Centaur Affinity
- Juggernaut
