It’s that time of the month once again, with another feature about what we’re up to this weekend. We have a few new faces this time around, both in the realm of games themselves and writers contributing. From a haunted radio station to the realm of fantasy, we’re all over the map once again as we look forward to diving into our new favorite games. Let’s find out what everyone on the Prima Teama is playing, and why they think you’ll love these titles, as well.
Wallace Truesdale – Killer Frequency
I am an absolute coward when it comes to anything horror-related in games, but I can’t stay away from it. That’s been the case with the game Killer Frequency. It’s not the scariest title by a long shot since the focus is more on puzzle-solving from the radio DJ stand, but the atmosphere gives me the creeps regardless. Plus, saving lives is always nerve-wracking. But, it’s been a blast; the characters are hilarious, the mystery is fun, and it doesn’t hurt that the soundtrack is pretty groovy (it’s set in the 1980s). Since it’s short, I plan on finishing the rest of the game this weekend.
David Morgan – Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
My funky self is going to be blastin’ through Bomb Rush Cyberfunk this weekend. I can almost feel the nostalgia of my broken wrist after trying to do one (1) 180-degree jump on rollerblades on my first day of summer vacation.
Madison Benson – Baldur’s Gate 3/Two Point Campus
I’ll be continuing my BG3 playthrough! I just entered the third act a couple of days ago, so I plan on making some good headway into that. I won’t give any spoilers, but let’s just say I’m enjoying moments of reprieve after hours of nonstop combat. The game keeps getting better as the hours go on, and I’m super excited to finish it and start a second playthrough as a bard in the upcoming weeks.

When I’m not playing Baldur’s Gate 3, I’ll try Two Point Campus’s latest DLC, Medical School. I tried it out for the first time on Thursday and look forward to playing it more between my lengthy BG3 sessions.
Priscilla Wells – Baldur’s Gate 3/Runescape
This weekend I plan to juggle a few video games. There is just never enough time in the day, right? Firstly, I want to continue my playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3. This is my first experience with both the series itself and the genre as a whole. I am really enjoying it so far! Due to only having a somewhat functional laptop, I am playing on the Steam Deck. I find it runs OK, but I need to find a preferable control layout. My weekend plans for the game!
I will also be hoping to get some Necromancy in on RuneScape. There’s just something fun about playing a game when there are plenty of other people doing the same thing as you. So, I want to make the most of it and level Necro whilst everyone else is still doing the same thing.
Lastly, I am knee-deep in my latest embargoed game and am enjoying it an incredible amount! I can’t wait to talk about this one in the future.
Shaun Cichacki – The Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Stumble Guys
Two games on completely opposite ends of the spectrum are part of my weekend plans. While I may be gone for the majority of the weekend celebrating my father’s birthday, I still plan on getting into some mayhem. No matter if I’m hunting down fairly helpless victims in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or working on my pursuit to unlock as many Mr. Beast skins as possible for the meme, I’ve got a pretty busy weekend ahead of me.
Eric Eduardo Weichart – Dicey Dungeons/Crush The Industry
After dedicating my free time exclusively to Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Pikmin 4, I needed a break as I started to dream I was in PNF-404 myself.

For a moment like this, roguelikes do the trick! While I’m not building a deck like in Slay the Spire, trying my luck with dice and climbing the corporate ladder does bring the relaxing yet thoughtful experience I need.
Shawn Robinson – StarCraft Remastered
Still working my way through StarCraft Remastered since the last edition. Completed the first two episodes, and I’m working through Episode 3 right now. I’m surprised by just how different it feels compared to SC2, given its focus more on using a diverse set of units to handle various problems instead of just marine-rushing whatever gets in your way. It’s refreshing! I’m working through another game as well, but you’ll need to wait until the next What We’re Playing to know more. I know, I’m cheeky with the cliffhanger.
Matt Vatankhah – BLASPHEMOUS 2
This is the weekend of repentance for me as I slash my way through Blasphemous 2, the upcoming sequel to one of my favorite metroidvanias in recent years. If you enjoyed the first one, Blasphemous 2 is a no-brainer. It’s filled with all the chilling religious iconography you’d expect, with thrilling boss fights, brutal violence, and challenging platforming; all coated in its absolutely gorgeous pixelated art style. I’ve got a confession to make – I’m hooked.
Nikola ‘The Nick’ Jovanovic – Vampire Survivors/Sea of Stars Demo
Since the whole craze about this indie game completely bypassed me last year, only now, with the Switch version, I discover what the fuss was all about, and I get it! The endlessly-addictive Vampire Survivors hooked me very quickly. I think I’ll be spending a lot of time with this version of the game; if you don’t have a portable PC, the Switch version is where it’s at.

I also plan on hopping into the Sea of Stars demo. As a big fan of classic JRPGs, it seems incredibly promising. Though, as a retro game purist, I don’t love some aspects of it. But I still can’t wait for the full version later this month. I downloaded the demo for PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox just to be sure where it looks best, and I think my choice will be Switch’s portable OLED screen.
Meg Bethany Koepp – Honkai: Star Rail/Genshin Impact
Literally every single time I do one of these, I’m playing a game I can’t mention just yet. And this time, I’ve got two, both with Star in their name. Yes, that is a humblebrag. No, I’m not sorry. You know you’d brag, too, don’t lie.
Outside of that, I’ll be juggling Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact. I’m trying to put together a Kafka team as I managed to pull her and her Light Cone, so I need to figure out what to do with that. As for Genshin, I haven’t played much since 3.0 was released, so I’m trying to catch up so I can jump on the Fontaine hype train because I’ve got serious FOMO. The new region looks beautiful!
Once again, we’ve got quite a variety of games happening this weekend, and it looks like our time is going to be well spent. Fleeing from the ferocious Leatherface or helping run the college of our dreams, we’ve always got something to look forward to when it comes time to relax.
