Xbox Showcase 2024 unveiled a ton of incredible titles over the weekend. There were so many wonderful games teased and revealed, and these are just a few of the ones we’re looking forward to playing.
State of Decay 3 Receives Official Trailer
State of Decay 3 has been one of the most anticipated zombie games of the decade and it’s spent years in development without any single notice or update of when it would arrive. Ever since its initial preview four years ago, fans have waited patiently for any sort of news that would hint at its release date or gameplay. And after all those years, the developers, Undead Labs, have officially unveiled its trailer for State of Decay 3’s gameplay and story direction and it’s bloody amazing. While there wasn’t any launch date revealed, it seems the title is only a short while away from release.
NetEase Showcases Another Hero-Shooter, FragPunk
NetEase’s Marvel Rivals has become incredibly popular over the last few months for its hero-shooter gameplay and Marvel characters. Now, the world’s getting another hero-shooter from NetEase titled FragPunk and it’s a fast-paced five-versus-fiver hero-focused first-person shooter with card mechanics, which is pretty unique. The new, exciting title comes out in 2025.
Gears of War Fans Surprised With Prequel, Gears of War: E-Day
It’s no surprise to see the Gears of War franchise continue, but to think fans would be brought back to the beginning of the series where it all started is definitely not something we were expecting. Gears of War: E-Day is the series’ next upcoming title and it’s a prequel to the original game. This new adventure takes place 14 years before the events of Gears of War and features an entirely new experience for fans to enjoy. Unfortunately, though, there aren’t any official release dates revealed yet.
Avowed Gets Another Trailer and Its Release Date Leaked
Avowed received another trailer, showcasing the title’s storyline and what potential players can expect from the new action role-playing game. The game also received a thirty-minute deep dive into its gameplay, design, and overall experience. Sadly though, there wasn’t any official release date announced during Xbox Showcase 2024. That said, the developers, Obsidian Entertainment, did accidentally leak the launch date on their website’s now-deleted post, and the game seems to be allegedly arriving on November 12, 2024. Now that’s something to be excited about.
These games are just a few of the titles we’re stoked about. For more information, we highly suggest checking out the rest of the upcoming games unveiled at Xbox Showcase 2024 on the official site.
