The 442 and its second variant are both pretty good as far as the best formations in EA FC 24 Career Mode are concerned. You get four at the back, two central midfielders, two wide attackers, and two forwards. The 442 allows you to adopt a flexible approach when it comes to gameplay. Both wide attackers can be instructed to come back and help the defense, while the midfielders can do the same. You can also ask one of the two central midfielders to aid you in attack, and having two strikers always makes it easier to score more goals.

While the first variant is the better one to use in Ultimate Team, it’s better to use the more standard version in Career mode. This formation also fits well for most clubs, making it worthwhile for you to learn and master. The attacking midfielder looks to join the single striker to score more goals, while the two wide attackers can have hybrid roles. You’ll want the two central midfielders to mostly stay back and focus on their defensive duties.
433
I like the first variant of the 433 more as it has three central midfielders (who can be used flexibly). Like the 4231 (2), the 433 also fits most clubs in terms of the required personnel. You can use wingers or inside forwards in the wide attacking positions based on your needs. Overall, the 433 is a balanced but basic setup that does the job more often than not.

When it comes to Ultimate Team, there is perhaps no formation as effective as the 4321. This extremely offensive setup employs two center-forwards along with the striker, making it three up top. The current meta is a big reason behind why the 4321 remains a favorite in the pro scene. However, not many Career Mode clubs will have a squad that will suit this formation. However, you could also use wingers in the CF positions (do note that their overall ratings could go down slightly due to being played in the wrong positions).

This is a perfect formation for those clubs who don’t have good wide attackers in their roster. The 4222 is a pretty good formation in EA FC 24 Career Mode, and great for playing tiki-taka-styled football. You could also employ a winger in one of the two CAM positions to add more variety to your attacks. The two central defensive midfielders keep things tight and ensure that you don’t lose too many goals.
