Alan Wake Remastered Announced & Is Launching This Fall

It's coming back

Alan Wake Remastered is coming to Xbox, the Epic Games Store on PC, and for the first time ever, PlayStation. This information comes from an open letter that Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy Entertainment posted to well-known Alan Wake fan site AlanWake.info. The game is being published by Epic Games.

Alan Wake Remastered Announced & Is Launching This Fall

You can read the full letter here. However, here is a piece that gives us a little more information on what we can expect from the Remaster.

“The original game was only available for Xbox 360 and a few years later, PC. We are thrilled about the opportunity to bring the remastered version out for a new generation of platforms. I am excited to hear what you think about Alan Wake.

Alan Wake Remastered is the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that. But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.”

It sounds like most of the upgrades will be purely visual so fans worried about Remedy changing anything that made the game special to them can breathe a sigh of relief.

We don’t have much more information about Alan Wake Remastered right now, but there is more information coming “soon” about the game. We do know that the remaster will feature both the Signal and The Writer DLC, no information on American Nightmare though.

Alan Wake Remastered will launch this Fall, which means that there isn’t too much of a wait, if you don’t count the past 11 years.
