New Unique Items Introduced in Diablo 4 Season 5

Barbarian

Unbroken Chain – Amulet

  • Movement Speed 12.5% – 18.0%
  • Ultimate Damage 219% – 300%
  • Steel Grasp Cooldown Reduction 13.5% – 22.5%
  • Pit Fighter 2 – 3
  • Casting Steel Grasp reduces Iron Maelstrom’s Cooldown by 3.3-10 seconds. Enemies damaged by Iron Maelstrom deal 15-30% less damage for 6 seconds.

With all these buffs to the Steel Grasp, it looks to be an awesome support skill for Iron Maelstrom Barbarian builds. All the stats look extremely powerful, but you have to remember that this takes up the amulet slot on your build. You’ll be losing a lot of power because of it. It’ll be interesting to see how it holds up as Barbarians rely on their cries for damage mitigation, which is enhanced by getting some Cooldown Reduction on your amulet.

Druid

Björnfang’s Tusks – Unique Gloves

  • Critical Strike Chance 6% – 8%
  • Non-Physical Damage 57% – 75%
  • Core Skills 2 – 3
  • Endless Tempest 1 – 2
  • Cataclysm is now guaranteed to strike anything in range, and you deal with 40-100% increased damage for the duration of the effect. While Cataclysm is active, you gain unlimited Spirit.

The Bjornfang’s Tusk is quite interesting as it gives you unlimited Spirit during the Cataclysm effect. This opens up builds that use the Tempest Roar, which might not be mandatory anymore. They finally gave us the opportunity to add the Harlequin Crest as a Druid.

Necromancer

Path of Trag’Oul – Unique Boots

  • Armor 1350 – 1500
  • Movement Speed 12.5% – 18.0%
  • Bone Prison Cooldown Reduction 13% – 17.5%
  • Bone Skills 1 – 2
  • Bone Prison traps a larger area and fires 10-30 Bone Splinters at enemies trapped within. Increase your Maximum Essence by 2 for 10 seconds each time these Bone Splinters hit an enemy.

The boot slot doesn’t give much power to a Necromancer, but this unique opens up some alternatives to some minion builds that use Bone Prison to apply Vulnerable to the enemies. Since it has an increased radius, you can definitely get a massive stack of enemies after using that Corpse Tendril to pull everyone in.

Rogue

Shroud of Khanduras – Unique Chest Armor

  • Evade Grants 57-75% Movement Speed for 2 seconds
  • Non-Physical Damage 57% – 75%
  • Dark Shroud 2 – 3
  • Shadow Resistance 83% – 110%
  • Dark Shroud grants Immune for 3 seconds, but your Evade Cooldown is increased by 9-3 seconds. Evading while Dark Shroud is active leaves behind an explosion that deals 11,802-35,406 Shadow damage and pulls in enemies.

The most eye-catching stat here is that massive movement speed bonus from using Evade. You can have some boots that reduce your evade cooldown every time you attack with a basic skill. Some of the most popular Rogue builds relied on basic skills such as Heartseeker and Puncture, so it is interesting how this would play out. The new roguelike mechanic in Season 5 doesn’t really need movement speed, but having movement speed always feels good.

Sorcerer

Axial Conduit – Unique Pants

  • Damage Reduction 3% – 5%
  • Resource Generation 23.5% – 32.5%
  • Chance for Chain Lightning Projectiles to cast twice 13% – 17.5%
  • Chain Lightning 2 – 3
  • Chain Lightning alternates between orbiting you and seeking up to 3 enemies. When it returns, it drains 6 Mana from you for each active Chain Lightning. After draining 66 total Mana, the bolt explodes for 5,514 – 22,056 Lightning damage.
  • Chain Lightning expires if you don’t have enough Mana for it to drain.

Sorcerers were in deep water in Season 4, even if players found a way to make an unstoppable Immortal Fire Shield/Fire Bolt build. However, the build diversity isn’t there for the class. The Axial Conduit will surely change things, as the Chain Lightning Sorcerer really needs a few more buffs to be on par with some of the other classes. If you want to test these out before Season 5 arrives, you can install Diablo 4’s PTR and test some builds out.
