Animated Mortal Kombat Movie ‘Scorpion’s Revenge’ Is Coming Soon

Looks like we're getting two Mortal Kombat movies in the near future!

Apparently we’re getting a second Mortal Kombat movie in the near future but unlike the live-action reboot on the way, this one is animated and all about Scorpion. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming animated Mortal Kombat movie called Scorpion’s Revenge.

According to a new report from Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. wants to launch the latest Mortal Kombat adventure before the end of June and is bringing back Patrick Seitz as Scorpion and Steven Blum as Sub Zero. Other casting details includes Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter, Community’s Joel McHale, David B. Mitchell as Raiden, and Jordan Rodrigues as Lui Kang. 

As far as who is producing the new animated Mortal Kombat movie, Batman vs Two-Face’s Rick Morales is joined by Batman: Gotham by Gaslight’s Jim Krieg to helm Scorpion’s Revenge with co-creator Ed Boon onboard as a creative consultant (or, Kreative Konsultant? Question mark?). 

While we don’t have an exact release date at this time, we do know that the studio is looking to push before July hits, so just in time for E3 madness and maybe a few more surprises up NetherRealm’s sleeve!
