Apex Legends has revealed its latest character joining the battle royale for Season 21: Upheaval, and it’s another dimension-traveling legend. Initially teased in a cinematic, the newest legend is named Alter and they’re a bit chaotic and scary.
With Apex Legends Season 20: Breakout coming to a close, Respawn Entertainment has already announced the latest news for Season 21: Upheaval and it includes Alter—a universe-hopping assassin seeking revenge on those who’ve done them wrong, who also seems a lot like the Joker from DC Comics.
In the cinematic, Alter is a cryptic, enigmatic figure who states they’ve lived dozens of lives across what seems like dozens of worlds. From being a soccer player to a mahjong champion to a martial artist, Alter has ventured down many paths. But there’s one current theme throughout each story and that’s Alter’s desire for revenge against those who’ve wronged them. Toward the end of the cinematic, it’s later known that Alter seems to want to eliminate Horizon or maybe find them. Sadly that’s all the cinematic revealed about Alter for now, but at least we sort of understand their backstory and personality. Take a look at the latest Apex Legends cinematic below.
