This morning, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate would be getting a new Title Update on February 23, 2023. This update comes eight years after the initial launch of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and fixes one of the more significant problems with the game that players have been facing the last few years.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Receives Update 8 Years After Launch
Title Update 1.53 for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will fix the dreaded screen flickering bug when playing the game on the PlayStation 5. This was hugely disappointing for fans of the game when they tried to play it on their PlayStation 5, only to be met with a nauseating bug that ruined the experience. It was one of the first major instances of backward compatibility on the PlayStation 5 not panning out.

You can see the official announcement from the Assassin’s Creed Twitter account below.
“We’re happy to announce that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will receive an update tomorrow, February 23, on PlayStation 4. This update will provide a fix for flickering issues when playing on PlayStation 5. #AssassinsCreed.”
So Syndicate fans rejoice; if you’ve been waiting to relive the tale of Evie and Jacob Frye on your PlayStation 5, you will be able to start tomorrow.
While Syndicate is eight years old, we have a new Assassin’s Creed on the horizon. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release this year. It focuses on the character Basim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and will be more in line with older Assassin’s Creed games like the original.
Ubisoft very well could have left Syndicate to be buried under the weight of their newer projects coming out, but it is always nice when older games are made playable and fixed for new hardware. Sometimes it’s better late than never, and we’re excited for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate to find life on another console.
