Today was huge for Electronic Arts at Gamescom. The company held its annual pre-show press conference this morning, highlighting a number of titles coming out over the next year, including Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Titanfall. The big one, however, was Battlefield 4, and the publisher had plenty of news about it.
The five expansion packs for the game have been revealed, all set to release over the next year. China Rising is up first, set to arrive this December, with Second Assault to follow soon after. The remaining three, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand, will arrive over the course of 2014, starting in the spring and working into the summer. Those who subscribe to Battlefield Premium – for the cost of about $120, game included – will gain access to these maps, along with weapons and other content, two weeks before the general public.
EA also confirmed that the beta, which was initially announced in 2012 when it came packed in with Medal of Honor: Warfighter, will finally kick off this October. The game releases October 29th, so we’re guessing it’ll happen earlier in the month.
