With the launch of Operation Grand Heist for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 officially underway, Treyarch revealed what will be in store for the rest of the season. Updates cover new content for Blackout, multiplayer, and zombie modes, some of which will be available in the first week while others later in the season. The update is now live on PlayStation 4 and will be coming to the Xbox One and PC in seven days.
Changes include a new specialist called Outrider, which uses a pilotable drone to automatically tag players within its field of view. Then she can use her super-accurate bow with explosive-tipped arrows to take them out.
The new map first is called “One in the Chamber,” which brings Party Games back to Black Ops multiplayer. This mode, which was first introduced in Black Ops II gives players exactly three lives and a single bullet in their pistols. Successfully taking out an opponent by shooting or melee will earn another bullet and 100 points.
Blackout’s new Western-themed Ghost Town location comes with two modes. There’s an above-ground version called “Outlaw,” inspired by Black Ops II’s Standoff mode, and a cavernous underground area called “Buried,” where hungry zombies await.
Zombie mode includes the “Death-Con Five” Gauntlet as part of the “Classified” content. In it, players take the roles of Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai, who must fight and survive 30 rounds inside a zombie-infested Pentagon building. “Classified” is also being offered as a standalone purchase.
Season Pass owners will have two extra multiplayer maps – Lockup and Casino – along with a new Gauntlet perk to toy with. The Pass also includes the Cosmic Silverback character, which is a spacesuit-wearing, gun-toting gorilla from the Dead Ops Arcade who is ready for action.
There’s plenty in this season for Black Ops 4 players to enjoy and more to come. Treyarch teased eight additional multiplayer maps, a new Blackout map, and two new zombie experiences that will come in March. Until then, have fun in Operation Grand Heist!
