Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion is the next piece of downloadable content for Actvision’s big-budget first person shooter. Arriving on Xbox One and Xbox 360 June 3rd, and other consoles at an unspecified date, the feature-rich DLC sells for $14.99 or comes included as part of the COD: Ghosts Season Pass.
As you’ll see in the bloody trailer, Invasion comes with four maps. One of the best-looking, Departed, takes place in a Mexican town during the Dia de los Muertos celebration, otherwise known as Day of the Dead. Of particular interest is the Death Mariachi killstreak. Players who achieve the map’s Field Orders will send this dual-wielding maniac through the area hunting down other gamers. Each person he shoots becomes a member of the band until there’s no one left.
Up next is Pharaoh. As the title implies, the map is set in Egypt, an abandoned archeological site of an ancient palace. Players must avoid falling monuments, hungry scarabs and other dangers. Completing this map’s Field Orders will result in a reward from Anubis, protector of the dead, but what this entails remains to be seen.
From there we have Mutiny, which continues the video game industry’s love for all things pirates. There’s a big pirate ship to explore, and the person lucky enough to complete the Field Orders will bring two pirate ghosts into the map.
Finally, there’s Favela, the fan-favorite map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In addition to a visual facelift, buildings once under construction are now complete, while other structures have seen better days.
Rounding out the Invasion package is the third chapter in the Extinction mode series, Episode 3: Awakening. Here, players will explore the alien underworld to take down the mysterious Ancestors.
